Flatford

A couple of weeks ago I ventured out early one morning to stroll around Flatford Mill. While I live only a few miles away it is not somewhere that I have been to many times, probabaly as it gets very crowded with trippers at certain times of the year.
I was still surprised with the number of people that were around at that time in the morning, about 6:00am, but I was left in peace to take a few photographs, including this one.
I hope that you like it.

Recording

Another area that I find interesting is the recording of the local environment, here, as an example, is a photograph that I recently took of Willy Lott's Cottage at Flatford, Suffolk, UK.

Compare this with the "original", John Constable's Haywain, and it is possible to see the changes to the scene.

While obviously there are differences, the basic components are still there, the river, the cottage, etc., but there are certain changes, particularly to the view.
This may be due to Constable's artistic license, but also the banks of the river were raised significantly during the twentieth century as flood prevention scheme.
It is this type of change that I seek to record in my photographs.
